Been a short while since the last update it seems. Although actually there's not alot happened to the car in
that time, as I got a bit distracted doing something else. I did get as far as re-assembling the rear suspension
(re-fitting dampers and anti-roll bar) and finishing off in the rear end.
Fast-forwarding to this (long) weekend, some time was still lost to the previously mentioned other task, but I did
manage some garage time. First job was to clean the brakes, which isn't very exciting or difficult, but means that
the is pretty much able to go down onto wheels now I think. Oh I also spent some time finishing off the fitting of
the front anti-roll bar, tightening everything up, and trying to get the droplinks aligned so that they will clear
the front springs - I also need to find something to fit to the mounting blocks to reduce the amount of lateral play,
and therefore the amount of clattering around it does.
Onto today, and with the front and rear ends now complete, it made sense to look at the bit inbetween the two. For
starters this means removing the tunnel panels and having a clean and inspection in there. Everything looks pretty
normal, so it's just some more cuts and scratches removing detritus, and while I was under here I cleaned off the
the whole floor of the car (it's a terrible affliction, OCD!).

In the afternoon, I decided to get the car down onto its wheels. Firstly I gave the inside of the wheels a quick
clean to remove the brake dust to avoid it becoming more permanent. I then spent a little while refitting the
wheels, which somewhat painfully involves removing the cycle wings, so is something of a fiddle. With that done,
the battery re-connected, and quick eyeball over everything (I found that the clutch fluid reservoir is leaking
somewhere, so will have to sort that), I put it down on the ground again and pushed it out of the garage.
The car sounds quite nice without the airbox on - I really ought to sort out an option for running like that, for
those days when you want to listen to some induction roar!

OK so it has been fairly slow progress, but at least there is some progress. I don't know where time goes...
After yesterdays efforts of getting the car onto its wheels, I had a bit of a change of plan today, and decided to
put it back up in the air, as it's easier to work on it there. Especially as the next task is to sort out some of
the dash/scuttle area, grovelling around under the dash is awkward at the best of times. So today it was off with
the aeroscreen with the target of looking at sorting out the 'brow dash'. This got bodginated last year when I had
to move it further back to allow the tonneau to fit along the top edge of the scuttle. So I have decided to make a
new one, but also to make a more cut down version. I am going to move some of the tell-tales down onto the dash,
and keep only the big LED cluster and a couple of others in the brow dash.
With that, I removed the screen and brow dash, and then spent an age deciphering the wiring for it so I can modify
the loom appropriately to split them apart.

I spent a little more time looking at unravelling the wiring for the tell-tales, and thinking about what I need to
do to make them work better - the problem is that they are the correct brightness during the daytime, but way too
bright at night. So I have been thinking about to add a switch to add in some extra resistance, the issue with this
is that some of the LEDs are positive switched and some negative, which makes the wiring a bit more complicated.

Another bit of a gap in proceedings, whilst other things take over from garage time. But I realised today that it is
May at the end of the week, and I want to get the car taxed so I can at least use it a little bit. So back (again) to
thinking about making progress.
What I did manage to do a couple of weeks ago was to make up the aluminium bracket which will be the new brow dash.
So that is fairly ready for action, just needs painting or covering. Next thing to do in on this job is to drill some
holes in the dash, which will be a bit more fiddly, to do neatly. Oh and I still need to get the wiring sorted, but I
think I have a vague plan for that.
Another little job which needs sorting out is my idea to feed the vent from the oil catch tank back into the airbox.
This will hopefully prevent the oily film all around the engine bay I have been getting, which keeps things mucky, and
I have just spent ages cleaning off. To this end, I looked for, but couldn't find, a similar T-piece to the elbow which
currently connects the cam cover breather the airbox. What I did find though, was that I already had a spare elbow, so
I decided to have a go at cutting and shutting two elbows into a T-piece.
