Not much going on with the car, but something which I want to do is to make/fit a
bootbox. Although it won't be all that huge, it will just provide a little space
for carrying helmet, tools, etc.
I've grand ideas that I will teach myself how to make things in GRP, and that a
little project such as this will be ideal. The issue I have is that my roll bar is
welded into the chassis, and so this makes the usual methods of obtaining and
fitting a bootbox somewhat tricky. I just want a simple box which will fit in the
space I have, and still be able to remove it relatively simply if I need to get in
the rear suspension area.
So I spend a day in the garage with my cardboard, performing some origami, making
a template for what I think the box should look like. It's pretty much a simple
box shape, but has some cutouts to allow it to fit around the fuel pipe into the
tank, and the rear anti-roll bar.
